Sometimes hilarious. Sometimes heartbreaking. Always human.

ONE WORLD. COUNTLESS STORIES.

THE WORLD OF HOCKEY

YOUTH HOCKEY

WHERE DREAMS BEGIN

Wobbly first steps on the ice. Oversized equipment. Sticks that seem impossible to control. Kids learning to skate, pass, shoot and occasionally remember which direction they're supposed to go.

Youth hockey is a world of first goals, spectacular falls, endless encouragement and pure excitement. It's where friendships begin, confidence grows and young players discover the simple joy of chasing a puck across the ice.

Long before the competition gets serious, it's about learning the game, having fun and falling in love with hockey.

A culture unlike any other.

From neighborhood rinks to professional arenas, hockey is a world filled with colorful personalities, deeply rooted traditions and an almost inexplicable devotion to the game.

Across youth, junior, recreational and professional hockey, each level reveals its own unique characters, relationships and culture.

JUNIOR HOCKEY

CHASING THE DREAM

Young athletes leave home, join unfamiliar teams and dedicate their lives to chasing an opportunity that few will ever achieve.

Behind every player is a family making sacrifices of their own. Years of early mornings, countless miles on the road, financial commitments and emotional goodbyes, all fueled by the hope of seeing their child succeed.

Junior hockey is a world of ambition, sacrifice, unlikely friendships and relentless pressure, where young players navigate the uncertain road toward professional hockey while their families cheer them on from near and far.

RECREATIONAL HOCKEY

THE DREAM THAT WON’T DIE

Accountants become enforcers. Electricians become goal scorers. Middle-aged dads rediscover their glory days under the fluorescent lights of a suburban ice rink.

The stakes are often meaningless. The emotions rarely are.

Recreational hockey is a world of strange traditions, questionable athleticism, fierce rivalries and friendships that keep players coming back long after their dreams of making the NHL have disappeared.

PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY

THE DREAM BECOMES REALITY

Behind the bright lights and roaring crowds is another world entirely.

A world of relentless schedules, locker-room personalities, elaborate superstitions, unforgettable characters and athletes navigating the pressures of playing the game they love for a living.

In the Wild takes audiences beyond the highlights to discover the human stories behind professional hockey.

These are stories with room to breathe, where the stakes become greater, the relationships grow deeper and the world expands beyond the game.

And our first journey takes us back to where hockey began. Outdoors, on a frozen pond.

THE GREAT

MIGRATION

A FEATURE DOCUMENTARY

Every winter, hockey players from across the country make a pilgrimage to the frozen lakes of Eagle River, Wisconsin, for the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships.

For a few unforgettable days, everyday life gives way to something simpler.

Frozen ponds. Bitter cold. Old friendships. New rivalries. And the opportunity to feel like a kid again.

The Great Migration follows a team introduced through In the Wild as they leave their local rink behind and journey north to compete on hockey's most elemental playing surface.

But the adventure begins long before the first puck drops.

Packed cars. Crowded hotel rooms. Endless highways. Small-town diners. Early morning departures and late-night arrivals. The journey becomes as much a part of the experience as the tournament itself.

Along the way, what begins as a story about recreational hockey becomes something much bigger.

Friendship. Competition. Aging. Identity. Escape. And the need to still have something worth showing up for.

The tournament is the destination.

The people are the story.
